Cambridge, MA. "Are we alone in the universe?" That's NOT the big question these days. The real question that scientists are examining is "Are there ETs on Earth right now?" And now, thanks to an initiative called "The Galileo Project" they seeking a definitive answer to that question using artificial intelligence.
The project is spearheaded by Professor Avi Loeb — the longest serving chairman of Harvard’s Department of Astronomy. And the AI technology is being provided by an Israeli startup called Timbr.
The Galileo Project is slated to build 100 highly specialized telescopes that will interface with Timbr's AI system. They plan to combine the telescope imagery with satellite data to sort through the gargantuan amount of data and images. “We will have an artificial intelligence system that will identify whether we are looking at a bird, a drone, an aeroplane or something else,” Loeb commented.
By filtering the data at lightning speed, the researchers are hoping what's left could be concrete PROOF that we are being visited. We will be following this project in the weeks and months to come and will report results as soon as they are available.
